How the rate is set: by the card's capability tier — VRAM and throughput class — not by model year. A newer card in the same class earns the same as an older one (a 5070 Ti and a 4070 Ti SUPER are both 16 GB-class "Pro Max" — each earns you ₹25.90/hr). Buyers pay for what the GPU does, so providers with last-generation cards aren't undercut by a label.

Can I list my 6-GPU rig?+
Yes — and this is actually GridShare's highest-value use case. Install the agent once on your rig; it auto-detects all NVIDIA GPUs. Each GPU registers as a separate billable node. A 6-GPU rig creates 6 independent nodes that can serve different buyers simultaneously — 6× RTX 3080 earns you ₹109.20/hr. At 50% utilisation and 20h online/day, that's ₹32,760/month. Multi-GPU rigs are ideal because they are built for sustained 24/7 load — and AI training and inference run at exactly that kind of sustained load.
Does sharing my GPU affect gaming or my own work?+
No. The node agent has a scheduler where you set exactly when GPUs are available for rental. Outside those hours no NEW rentals are placed on your machine. When you sit down at the PC we detect it within 30 seconds and stop charging the buyer immediately — but their session keeps running in the background and still holds GPU memory. If you need the whole GPU back immediately, message us and we will end the rental — a running rental can only be stopped by the renter or by us, never silently by the machine's owner, because someone is paying for that work. Most gaming PC providers set availability to midnight–8 AM on weekdays and overnight on weekends — earning about ₹1,400–₹6,000/month at 70% utilisation with zero impact on gaming.
Can buyers see my files or access my PC?+
No. Every buyer job runs inside an isolated Docker container — like a completely separate minimal computer with only GPU access. Buyers cannot see your Windows or Linux files, cannot access network drives, and cannot install anything outside their container. The isolation is enforced at the Linux kernel level — it's the same isolation used by AWS and Google Cloud internally.
What is GridShare's cut? How does the math work?+
GridShare takes 30%. You keep 70%. This is the same split as Vast.ai and RunPod globally. Example: an RTX 4090 rented for 10 hours: you earn ₹336 (70% × ₹480). GridShare earns ₹144. The buyer pays ₹480 plus 18% GST (₹566.40 total), which is claimable as ITC for businesses. There are no hidden fees. Monthly payouts to your bank are FREE — we absorb the transfer cost. If you want it faster, a flat fee covers the transfer: ₹5 weekly, ₹10 daily. It's charged only when a payout is actually sent, and you always see it before it's charged. Balances below the payout minimum (₹150 daily / ₹300 weekly / ₹500 monthly) simply roll over, fee-free.
Will running AI workloads damage my GPU?+
Multi-GPU rigs are built for sustained 24/7 load, and AI training and inference run at exactly that kind of sustained load. For gaming PCs, sustained GPU load is actually common (gaming runs GPUs at 99% for hours). GridShare adds per-GPU thermal monitoring (auto-pause at 85°C), power limits, and fan monitoring that most people don't have when gaming. We've run internal testing for 6+ months with zero hardware failures. The main risk of GPU damage is electrical surges — a UPS is recommended for high-uptime setups.
How does TDS work for provider income?+
GridShare deducts TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) on payments to providers as required by the Income Tax Act. Nothing is deducted until your earnings for the financial year cross the limit that applies to you. Keep a valid PAN linked to your account — without one, tax is withheld at a higher rate (Section 206AA). GridShare issues Form 16A for TDS deducted. You can claim TDS credit when filing your ITR. For most providers, GPU income falls under "Other Sources" in ITR-1 or ITR-2.
What happens if a buyer runs something illegal on my GPU?+
Every buyer verifies their email and pays through a regulated payment rail (Razorpay), so every job traces back to a real, funded account — we don't accept anonymous compute. GridShare's Terms of Service prohibit illegal usage including crypto mining, DDoS, spam, and CSAM. Network traffic is monitored at the platform level. Hardware providers are not legally liable for buyer workloads. GridShare sells the compute to buyers as principal and holds responsibility for the platform; as a provider you supply capacity to GridShare, and you are not running or authorising any specific buyer job.
Can I list both a gaming PC and a multi-GPU rig on the same account?+
Yes. You can register as many hardware setups as you want under one account. Install the agent on each machine — they all appear in your Provider Dashboard as separate nodes with individual controls, earnings, and schedules. A single account can manage a gaming PC, a multi-GPU rig, and a workstation, each with different availability windows and payout tracking.
I have an AMD Radeon GPU — can I list it? What is ROCm?+
Yes — AMD ROCm is available now in Beta. ROCm is AMD's open-source compute platform, equivalent to NVIDIA's CUDA. With ROCm 6.1, RX 6000 and RX 7000 series GPUs run PyTorch and TensorFlow workloads at 88–95% of equivalent NVIDIA performance on standard training and inference tasks. The biggest beneficiaries are owners of AMD multi-GPU rigs — RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT, RX 7900 XTX — which can now earn on GridShare. ROCm requires Ubuntu 22.04; Windows is not supported for AMD. I have a Mac — can I list it on GridShare?+

How does the Apple Silicon agent work without Docker?+
On Linux, GridShare uses Docker with NVIDIA Container Toolkit (or ROCm runtime for AMD) to isolate buyer jobs. On macOS, GPU passthrough into Docker containers is not natively supported by Apple. Our macOS agent instead uses a lightweight native process model: each buyer job runs in an isolated Python venv with sandboxed filesystem access via macOS Sandbox framework. Metal and MLX calls go directly to the GPU — no container overhead. Isolation on macOS is enforced via macOS App Sandbox, Gatekeeper, and our agent's own file path restrictions. The practical implication for providers: supported workloads include inference (MLX, PyTorch MPS, llama.cpp) and fine-tuning (LoRA / QLoRA via MLX-LM) — not arbitrary Docker images, but the workloads buyers need most on Apple Silicon are fully covered.
How do I remove GridShare from my PC?+
Windows: download GridShare-Uninstall.bat and double-click it (it asks for administrator permission once), or in PowerShell as administrator: irm https://gridshare.in/dl/uninstall.ps1 | iex — Mac: curl -fsSL https://gridshare.in/dl/uninstall-mac.sh | bash — Linux: curl -fsSL https://gridshare.in/dl/uninstall-linux.sh | bash. It removes the agent and its auto-start entries and restores the power settings the installer changed. On Windows it leaves Ubuntu (WSL2) and Docker in place because other software may use them; wsl --unregister Ubuntu-24.04 deletes that whole environment too. Your account and pending earnings are unaffected, and you can reinstall any time.
